Still life with stone head by Henri Gaudier-Brzeska signed 'H. Gilman' (lower right) pencil, pen and black ink 53/4 x 71/2 in. (14.6 x 19 cm.) PROVENANCE Anon. sale; Christie's, London, 4 March 1988, lot 148, where purchased by the present owner. NOTES The sculpted head by Henri Gaudier-Brzeska (1891-1915), seen on the left side of the composition, was cast in stone composite in an edition of twelve in 1912. One of these casts will be offered in these Rooms in the sale of 20th Century British Art, 24 November 2001, lot 109.
