Lapham & Dibble Gallery, Inc., Shoreham, Vermont. NOTES Painted in 1948, the model for the present work was John. J. Montague whose family let Guy Pene du Bois and his wife stay at their house in Vermont. This work was given to the family as partial payment for room and board.
