London"). an exceptional example of greenaway's original children's book art : a design for an illustration in Little Ann and other Poems (London: Routledge, 1883), edited by Jane and Ann Taylor. The watercolor illustrates a poem by Adelaide O'Keeffe, and shows a pretty young woman seated at a table with an older woman, and with small child standing beside her. The drawings for Little Ann are amongst the artist's finest, and were done under the scrutiny of her friend the great critic John Ruskin. Cf. Engen, Kate Greenaway p104 (her "best book").
