German Gilt Brass Horizontal Table Clock The octagonal shaped box case for the fusee going train with verge escapement and balance wheel, countwheel hour striking on a bell in base, the sides of the case with glazed panels to view movement, the applied silver metal dial pierced with an inner ring of Roman numerals and an outer ring Arabic seconds, the dial enclosed by an inner engraved gilt foliate scroll cresting, the whole raised on cylindrical tripod base ending in toupie feet, case engraved "Josephus Juis Passoit". Josephus Juis Passoit 17th Century Height 2 7/8 inches (6.5 cm); diameter 3 1/4 inches (8 cm) Similar lot offered at Sothebys June 2, 2002, lot #58.
