In the past, Frédéric's work has often been confused with that of his father, Charles Soulacroix (1825-1899). According to his great-grandson, Conte Dr. Gregorio d'Ottaviano Chiramonti, Frédéric always signed his work F. Soulacroix, while Charles, who was a religious fresco painter and sculptor, signed his work C. or CH. Soulacroix.
