David A. Hanks, Frank Lloyd Wright: Preserving an Architectural Heritage, Decorative Designs from The Domino's Pizza Collection, New York, 1989, pp. 46-47

Notes:

Although Wright often designed free-standing furniture, he preferred built-in furniture integral to the architecture. This chest displays characteristics of both. Although meant to stand alone, the strong rectilinear design gives the chest the appearance of an architectural element within a room. As with most of the furnishings from the Little house, this chest is related to the Dana house furniture, as seen, for instance, in the delicate, rib-like molding on each of the four sides. Wright also designed a secretary for the Little house which shares the same overall form and proportions as this chest. The secretary is fitted with a mirrored door above a drop-front desk and five bottom drawers. In its original position this chest and its companion secretary flanked the fireplace in the master bedroom, which is shown on Wright's surviving blueprint plan.
