En bronze, représenté tournant la tête à gauche et portant une perruque élaborée; reposant sur un support moderne en bois et sur un socle circulaire en bois noirci; traces d'étiquette au dessous; patine brune à rehauts brun chocolat

Notre bronze semble provenir du même moule que celui ayant servi à la statue équestre de Louis XIV par Girardon, conservée au Musée du Prado à Madrid (voir M. Martin, Les Monuments équestres de Louis XIV, Paris, 1986, p. 115, no. 62).

With elaborate perruque and his head turned to sinister, on a modern wooden support and circular ebonised wood socle, the underside with the remains of a paper label; dark brown patina with chocolate high points
The head offered here appears to have come from the same mould as a variant model of Girardon's equestrian bronze of Louis XIV in the Prado Museum, Madrid (illustrated in M. Martin, Les Monuments équestres de Louis XIV, Paris, 1986, p. 115, no. 62).
