Illustrated with wood-cuts throughout. 12mo, contemporary calf, very worn; lacking A1-3 (frontispiece, title, preface), and the terminal ad leaf, 4 leaves with tears from fore-edge to gutter (two leaves with loss of several letters), corners rounded, some soiling and other small faults; owner's name and short inscription at the head of the first text leaf ("David Rowlands his Book & margrorstt [sp?] Jones 1729"). London, 1722
Notes: first edition of this legendary work. Toole Stott 199 reports that the first 3 leaves are generally lacking, as with this copy. All pagination in this copy corresponds with the First Edition - pages 7-44, 54, 46-96, 73-77, 87, 79-101, [102] + 2 [of 3] ad leaves.
