Condition/Details: Bound in red, black and white wrappers with drawing of Fidel Castro on front cover, this antique volume is a scarce early collection of three key political texts by Fidel Castro: "La historia me absolvera," "Tesis economica del movimiento del 26 de julio," and "La cuestion obrera: La reforma agraria consigna de la Revolucion."
Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz (born August 13, 1926) is a Cuban politician, one of the primary leaders of the Cuban Revolution, the Prime Minister of Cuba from February 1959 to December 1976, and then the President of the Council of State of Cuba until his resignation from the office in February 2008. He is currently the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba.
The work is accompanied by a red and black silk bookmark with an original black and white photo of Fidel Castro pasted at its center. The bookmark was likely issued together with book as it was inside when originally purchased. The material in this lot is accompanied by provenance to establish authenticity, in the form of copies of a letter signed by Manresa's son and and the original export certificate issued by the Cuban government. The volume shows external age/wear, with both covers detached. Text block is intact. Age-toned pages show no annotations. The book measures approximately 5 3/4" x 8 1/2" and contains 132 pages.
