Condition/Details:This piece of antique sheet music is a scarce edition of a song written by Ella Wheeler Wilcox "expressly for the Hearst San Francisco Relief Fund" that came into existence as a result of the great earthquake of April 18, 1906. The most striking front cover of this work shows an angel with its hands covering its face as it towers over the silhouette of a city lying underneath a wall of bright orange flames. The music to this piece is by F. Fanciulli. This particular edition appeared in the music section of the Chicago Sunday American on May 20, 1906.
The two sheets that make up this piece are still attached though nearly half of the bottom portion of fold has been chipped away. Chipping along edges does not affect any portion of text or illustration. The piece measures approximately 10 3/4" x 14". Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $4.50
