This Colt SAA revolver is accompanied by a factory letter that states it was originally shipped to Marcos Russek in New Orleans, Louisiana, on July 24, 1908. The revolver originally had a blue finish and was chambered for the .44-40 cartridge (the pistol has subsequently been fitted with a .45 caliber barrel). The revolver is fully covered with relief scroll engraving on a stippled background. The left side of the barrel is relief-engraved with a lion motif. The two-line Colt Hartford address in roll-stamped on the top of the barrel on a rectangular panel that forms the end of the lion's mane. The caliber designation: "45 Colt" is roll stamped in a banner on the left side. The Colt 'three-date/two-line' patent markings and the encircled Rampant Colt trademark are located in a raised panel on the left side of the frame. The left side of the trigger guard has the Colt, VP/Triangle proof mark on the front bow and a "6" assembler's mark on the rear bow. The serial number, "304782" is located on the frame, trigger guard and backstrap. The assembly number, "3353" is located on the inside of the loading gate. The revolver is fitted with (possibly Bohlin supplied) silver and gold plated, German silver stocks. The stocks have a stippled finish on all of the surfaces except the butt. The sides of each stock grip are decorated with a relief Indian Head, a diamond, a horses head in an upside-down horse shoe and four relief floral designs. The sides of both grips are identical. The engraving is crisp, well executed and covers nearly the entire surface of the revolver. The revolver is complete with a Colt Factory Letter and a Certificate of Authenticity that states the revolver "was owned and personally used by cowboy star, Roy Rogers" and has been on display in the Roy Rogers-Dale Evans Museum..
