Portrait of Dora Morris oil on board 21 x 18 in. (53.3 x 45.8 cm.) Painted circa 1934-36 PROVENANCE The Roche Family. Anon. sale; Sotheby's, London, 30 September 1986, lot 75. NOTES 'The sitter was the sister of the artist Peter Morris and a close friend of Duncan Grant and Vanessa Bell. She became Lady Romilly on her marriage and died in 1960. This rapid sketch was painted in Grant's London studio, 8 Fitzroy Street, in circa 1934-36' (R. Shone, private correspondence, 2001).
