Derbyshire Regiment (Sherwood Foresters) Officer's helmet plate circa 1881-1901. A very fine and scarce gilt example of universal crowned star pattern mounted with full laurel wreath and silver Maltese Cross with applied gilt oak wreath and scrolls 'The Derbyshire Regt' to the arms of the cross. To the centre, a silver stag set on translucent blue enamel ground. To the base of the laurel wreath, an applied bi-part silver scroll inscribed 'Sherwood Foresters'. Three loops to reverse. VGC
