Daguerreotypes: Group of portraits
Photographers: Ferdinand Knoche, Hutchinson and unknown. Group of portraits. 1850s. 7 quarter-plate daguerreotypes, 1 ninth-plate daguerreotype, 1 full-plate ambrotype and 1 quarter-plate ambrotype. Each with gilt ornamental surrounds/passepartout and under glass (2 paper-taped behind glass), some hand-tinted, most in contemporary leather cases (some with covers missing, edges rubbed).
The full-plate portrait of a family is an unusually large ambrotype and the ninth-plate daguerreotype shows an older man with closed eyes (post mortem?). - Most with oxidation around edges, some with spots on glass, several in good to very good condition.
