Lot 5: Colt Model 1908 pocket Hammerless .380 Pistol
Auction No. 92 Featuring Fine Collectible Arms
Platinum Houseby Amoskeag Auction Co
November 17, 2012
Manchester, NH, USA
Live AuctionDescription: serial #7179, 380 ACP, 3 3/4" barrel with a mint bore. This early high polish blue pistol is in very minty condition. Metal surfaces of pistol retain 98 - 99% original blue finish. The fire blue on the slide stop/safety, trigger and rear sight remains brilliant. The checkered hard rubber grips rate excellent plus. The pistol comes in its original box which is numbered in pencil on bottom and with good end label. The box rates about good overall with an end flap of lid missing and with lid having come detached. This box could be restored and made much nicer with little effort. Pistol comes with factory letter which confirms the configuration and shows shipment to Schwabacher Hardware Co., in Seattle on January 31, 1911. A lovely, investment quality Colt pistol.
