33" American Folk Art Rag doll. Late 19th c. Head, shoulders and features are entirely hand painted. Head is made and painted to indicate a French twist shape. Cloth body is unpainted. Hands have an individual thumb and the rest is mitt style with sewn down fingers. She is dressed in all antique clothing - burgundy wool dress with smocking and tuck detail. Cotton petticoat and pantaloons, pink chambray bonnet, socks. Black leather tasseled 3-button boots. Condition: minor age deterioration on body and clothing.
