An estimated 12,800 of these palm pistols were manufactured by Ames Manufacturing Co. This radial cylinder pistol was designed to fit in the palm of the hand and operated by a hinged lever mounted to the rear of the circular frame. The rotary magazine has to be removed for loading. Flower engraving around barrel and around edge of frame. Markings on the left side plate "CHICAGO FIREARMS CO./ CHICAGO, ILL." and on the right side "THE PROTECTOR / PAT. MCH. 6, 83, AUG. 29, 93". Checkered hard rubber side plates and grip pad. Matching numbers.
