Description:
comprising studies of wine jars, an oil lamp, a gargoyle and details of friezes, pencil on paper signed with artist's monogram, titled, annotated, dated and then corrected "April 7th, 1890?-1891" 26.25 by 17.6 cm (10 3/8 by 6 7/8 in) Mackintosh spent the day in Pompeii, where he noted in his diary that he "was more in the mood than I have been since I arrived".
