England, 19th century. .22 caliber, 2 1/2" barrel with worn original blueing. Brass frame has traces of silver plating. Mahogany case with burl veneer lid and shield-shaped escutcheon plate. Paper label for "JH Crane" inside the lid matches the barrel signature. 5 3/4"l. Case, 7 1/2" x 4 1/2".
