NOTE

Carl Paul Jennewein was an extremely successful sculptor with a number of important public commisions to his credit, particularly in the 1920's and 30's. Among these are the roof ornaments, elevator doors and the polychromed figures in the tympanum of the Philadelphia Museum of Art; the incised reliefs flanking the doors to the main branch of the Brooklyn public library; and the pair of figures in the Great Hall of the Justice Department, Washington, D. C.

Cupid and Crane was awarded the Medal of Honor at the eighth annual exhibition of the Concord (Massachusetts) Art Association in 1924
