Produced between 1712 and 1777 in the "Georgian" style by David Collumbell, a London gunsmith. Barrel is marked "COLLUMBELL LONDON" on the top at the breech, with light scroll engraving on the tang and a set of "crown/ V" and "crown/ GP" gold inlaid proofs on the left side. Light raised border embellishment is visible on the lock plate, with "COLLUMBELL" under the flash pan. Full length stock, with horn tipped ebony ramrod, silver pipes, silver trigger guard with clamshell accent and floral engraving, reverse plate with raised patterns, inscription shield with grotesque face on the backstrap, cracked wrist with four period brass (or copper) repair straps and a silver cap with grotesque face and floral patterns.
