Emile Antoine Bourdelle (French, 1861-1929). He
studied at the Ingress Museum, the art school in Toulouse, and the

sculpture, he was greatly admired by Auguste Rodin, and in 1893 joined
him as an assistant. The Musee Bourdelle in Paris (his house, studio and
gardens) contains many of his works. Bourdelle was the great-uncle of
the consignor whose mother, Theofania (Fanny) Bernand Sevastos was a
favorite niece of Bourdelle. Nicknamed 'Zezette', and later 'Zezet' by
Bourdelle, she was a model for paintings and sculpture.
