The narrative deals with her personal encounters with both the petty officials of Nazi Germany (including her sexual subjjugattion) and with such major players as Goebbels Goering and Himmler. Much on Hitler's obsession with the occult and astrology his women (including Eva Braun) his visitors (including British pro-Nazis Oswald Moseley and Unity Mitford his petty likes and dislikes and his overwhelming dominance. This is actually an example of British black propaganda a salacious fictional account of the lifestyle of Hitler and his Nazi cohorts designed to foment contempt for the German leadershipand sew dissension among their allies. The author quotes Hitler as admiring the British fighting spirit I know I fought against them while disparaging the Italians the only order the understand is the order to retreat. Outwardly genuine even to the frontispiece photograph of the Nordic Pauline Kohler the farrago is said by one source to have been the work of one Richard Collier (Kohler). It is probable that principles in the firm of John Long a reputable publisher were aware of the deception -- presumably the manuscript was made available on a royalty-free basis and publication may even have been subsidiized. Translations appeared in Italian Swedish (and very likely other languages) and a US edition was published by Sheridan in 1940 under the title The Woman Who Lived in Hitler's House .
