Original photograph album - WW1 interest, German South West Africa (Military, mining, aviation, etc., 184mm x 244, Some of the photographs are dated 1914. Total of 42 black and white photographs glued into the album and three loose items, one of which is a post card passed by a military censor, but the bottom portion has been cut off. Most of the photos have a hand written pen title. There are eight titles, for which there are no photos - they either fell out or were removed.13 photographs are of military history interest, such as 1st Eastern Rifles marching through Aus Nek, guard of honour at General Botha's visit to Luderitzbucht, etc.5 photographs are of early mining interest, such as the diamond fields at Kolmans Kop.One photograph, see extra image, is of aviation interest, especially for those who can identify the craft.The balance of the images have German East African interest and the largest pictures are scenic views of German South West Africa.CONDITION DETAILS: The album itself is in poor condition, whith a plastic film glued onto the outer covers, that is yellowing and coming loose. Many of the photographs have surface damage and on about eight of them, there has been a poor attempt to mask the damage with pecil or pen., Condition - Some photos are poor, , , Circa 1914
