Lot 1069: Blood Order Ribbon

Description: Rare opportunity to acquire an original ribbon for the Blood Order, one of the highest awards that could be made to the 'Old Fighters.'  This ribbon was properly sewn according to regulations during the period with the buttonhole, allowing the medal to be worn with the ribbon buttoned onto the right breast pocket button.  As an extra security measure, a safety pin would be inserted into the sewn channel at the top of the ribbon and pinned to the underside of the pocket flap.  If you have a Blood Order without the ribbon, this is an excellent chance to add the correct original ribbon.  Loose Blood Order ribbons are extremely difficult to find!
