PROVENANCE Gifted to the original owner by members of the Papunya Council in appreciation for teaching at Papunya kindergarten in 1973 Private collection, Alice Springs Deutscher-Menzies, Fine Aboriginal Art, Melbourne, 10th August 1998, Lot 280A. Private collection, Melbourne This painting is sold with an accompanying cataloguing page together with an annotated diagram and a description of the story depicted by Geoffrey Bardon that reads in part: 'The spiraling line is running water. This sign represents the eternal watermark and has the meaning of rain, storm, thunder and cloud to nourish bush tucker...... There are many people celebrating this Water Dreaming'.
