Provenance: Watiyawanu Artists: Cat. no. 770612 Private Collection, Vic Sold with original art centre documentation Bill Whiskey began painting at 85 years of age. His subjects are the rockholes near Pirupa Akla (Olgas) where he was born and the places he travelled to and stayed at between Areyonga and Haasts Bluff, prior to settling at Amunturrungu near Mount Liebig. Whiskey is a very traditional man with an extremely jovial personality. This is reflected in the bright colours he employs to render the images of his sacred country.
