BENES Vincenc (22. 1. 1883 Velke Lisice u Chlumce n. Cidlinou - 27. 3. 1979 Prague) Reclining female nude Indian ink on paper, mounted, 9 x 10 cm, undated, signed lower left with initials, signed lower right, ex collection Rudolf Rysavy. Czech painter, he studied under E. Dite and E. K. Liska at the Academy of Decorative Arts in Prague and then under V. Bukovac at the Prague Academy of Arts. He took part in the second exhibition of the "Osma" group of artists with whom he shared an interest in Expressionism and Cubism. See T 1/55, V 1/167, B 1/622, Ch 1/134, NECVU 1/62.
