First edition, first printing. Paris: Geneve-Paris, 1946. Softcover, 7.5 x 10, 171 pages. Signed and inscribed on the half-title page to famed photographer Mariette Lachaud, "For Mariette Lachaud, Souvenir of Varengeville, 20 Oct 46, G. Braque," and in French by the author, "For Mariette, who does such beautiful portraits of Braque, In friendship, Oct. 9, 46, Jean Paulhan." In fine condition, with light rubbing and creasing to covers and spine.
