Condition/Details: Bound in blindstamped brown cloth with gilt lettering and decorative designs to spine, this antique volume is a scarce memoir of the subject's life of bondage in North Carolina and Alabama. The work is illustrated with a frontispiece portrait, plates and in-text illustrations. The volume shows external age/wear, with cracking and chipping along gutters, wear to edges and corners. The book is solidly bound with lightly age-toned pages that show foxing. The book measures approximately 4 1/2" x 6" and contains 216 pages plus 7 page of publisher's advertisements.
