This lot includes the group of limited edition Christmas greeting cards featuring the artwork of Eyvind Earle shown in the corresponding image(s). This lot includes nine large format cards signed by Earle on the front and unsigned inside of the card; five cards designed by Earle with personalized Christmas greetings, signed by Earle and Tony; and a collection of approximately twenty catalogs and other material on Eyvind Earle from the 1970s and later. Eyvind Earle (April 26, 1916 - July 20, 2000) was an American artist, author and illustrator, noted for his contribution to the background illustration and styling of Disney animated films in the 1950s. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, Rahr West Art Museum, Phoenix Art Museum and Arizona State University Art Museum have purchased Earle's works for their permanent collections. His works have also been shown in many one-man exhibitions throughout the world. (courtesy of Wikipedia)
This lot comes from the collection of photographer Fernand Fonssagrives. Fernand Fonssagrives (June 8, 1910 - April 23, 2003), born near Paris, France, was a fashion photographer in the 1940s and 1950s when he took pictures for Town and Country and Harper's Bazaar magazines known for his 'beauty photography'. The native Frenchman lived the last 30 years of his life in Little Rock, Arkansas. His later pictures featured female nudes with patterns of light on their skin. He was a professional dancer, one of the top photographers in NYC and at one point the highest paid photographer in New York. He was an award winning sculptor working in Bronze, and an avid painter who wrote prolifically. Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $10.50
