This is an example of a desirable 38-55 chambered pre-WWI produced Winchester Model 1894 rifle as manufactured in 1895, the second year of production. The rifle has a Lyman blade front sight, adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight and a full length magazine tube. The top of the barrel has the standard two line address followed by "38-55", three line model designation/patent date marking on the upper tang and the serial number on the frame underside. Blue with casehardened lever and buttplate. Smooth forearm with cap and straight grip stock with carbine style buttplate.
