Notes: The two lots on this page are the property of a collector, Philadelphia. In a note to Barridoff Galleries, he wrote the following:I was friends with Gritchenko and visited him several times at his summer hiome in St. Paul de Vence in the French Riviera. He was known to have used a secret medium at times and from a photograph I showed him he said that he believed it [Arc en ciel Milos] was done with his secret medium.A copy of a letter dated December 28, 1971 guaranteeing the authenticity of "Arc en Ciel sur Milos" from the Lunn Gallery, Washington, D.C. accompanies the lot.
