Notes: Bord de Marne à l'aube belongs to the series of works acquired from the family of the artist by Maître Breschet, a lawyer in Puy-en-Velay. The Marne river was one of Dubois-Pillet's preferred subjects, allowing him to explore the reflection of the sky in the water in a Pointillist manner.
