Ahrendts, Leopold View of Gendarmen Markt View of Gendarmen Markt. 1863. Gold-toned albumen print with rounded corners. 24 x 18 cm. Mounted to original board and annotated in ink in German below the image on the mount. A rare picturesque view by Leopold Ahrendts showing the construction site on the corner of Markgrafen and Franz÷sische Str. The corner building that stood at the site was torn down in 1863. - One small foxing spot near left edge, a few surface spots of glue residue to the left of right tower and one retouched spot in lower area, otherwise in very good condition and with a strong violet-brown tone.
