A Pair of Louis XVI Style Gilt Bronze and Marble Figural Six Light Candelabra
Late 19th Century
Each standard in the form of a naked putto crowned with grapevines holding a cornucopia issuing leaf and berry cast s-curve candlearms terminating in urn form candlecups, raised on a circular plinth draped with a fringed cloth with outstepped floral encircled feet, now drilled and mounted for electricity.
Height 32 1/4in (82cm)
Overall good condition with overall minor abrasions. Gilding is toned and rubbed from highpoints. Gilt bronze candlearms are drilled for electricity. The laurel branches encircling the central candle arm are reattached on one candelabra. Each marble figural standard with glue residue on the back from affixing electrical wiring to the standard. One marble cornucopia is broken off, restored and overpainted with associated small chips to back of grapevine crown.
