A FINE AND VERY LARGE PAIR OF EMPIRE ORMOLU, PATINATED BRONZE AND MARBLE FOURTEEN-LIGHT CANDELABRA CIRCA 1810, STAMPED CHIBOUT
each with a standing patinated bronze figure of Victory holding aloft the curved candle branches arranged in two tiers and cast with foliate rinceaux; raised on an ormolu-mounted marble pedestal fitted with an ormolu leaf tip border above a square base. Stamped inside each cloud collar 'Chibout', and inside each candle branch 'Chi'.
Members of the Chibout family of bronziers are recorded active in Paris during the first half of the 19th century.
