William Morris Textiles, London 1983, p.63 NOTES In 1877, William Morris (d.1896) studied English medieval bird patterns for manufacturing woven cloth in Queen Square, London. He introduced the 'Bird' design the following year for the drawing-room 'tapestry' wall-hangings of his London home at Kelmscott House, Hammersmith. Duquette was the great nephew of Peter Paul Marshall, William Morris' business partner in the firm Morris, Marshall & Faulkner.
