With slightly shortened sighted barrel, plain tang, border engraved rounded lock (steel, top jaw and screw old replacements) with indistinct 'GR' crowned and 'Tower' across the tail, three-quarter stock (some splits, fore-end adapted) with apron around the barrel tang, butt stamped with Ordnance Storekeeper's mark on one side, and incised with initials at a later date on each side, regulation brass mounts (fore-end cap missing) including escutcheon, and sling loop (ramrod missing, steel parts worn and pitted)
