Notes: Bound in green cloth with bright gilt lettering to spine, this set is a scarce collection of the correspondence of the famous Irish writer. Volume I was originally edited in 1957 by Stuart Gilbert and reissued with corrections in 1966. Volumes II & III are edited by Joyce biographer Richard Ellmann. Volume I contains a chronology of Joyce's life in addition to Stuart Gilbert's introduction and memoir. For Volumes II and III Richard Ellmann has supplied a long and illuminating introduction. The work is illustrated with frontispiece portraits and photographs. The volumes show mild external age/wear, and are solidly bound with clean, bright pages. Slipcase is intact with staining and tears to rear panel. The books measure approximately 6 1/2" x 9 1/2". Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $10.50
