Notes: Bound in half leather with raised bands, marbled boards and bright gilt embossing to spine, this antique set is a scarce autobiographical work by Thomas Moore (May 28, 1779 - February 25, 1852), an Irish poet, singer, songwriter, and entertainer, now best remembered for the lyrics of "The Minstrel Boy" and "The Last Rose of Summer."
The work is illustrated with a frontispiece portrait and a vignette on half title page. The volumes show mild external age/wear, and are solidly bound with lightly age-toned pages that show foxing throughout. Endpapers and edges are marbled.
