Most likely of English origin with this very distinctive club butt this rifle is fitted with a brass bead front and groove rear sights, aside from "SG" on the top of the barrel no maker or proof markings are visible on the rifle. Lock plate has beveled edges and an integral pan fence. Smooth full length stock with brass trigger guard and ramrod pipes, iron ramrod, brass barrel band, contoured buttstock and flat buttplate.
