About Us
Dargate Galleries in Pittsburgh has been in the antique and fine arts business over twenty years. In the spring of 2002, Paul Novosel and Dan Zivko purchased the gallery from Larry and Carol Farley, who had developed the gallery into a successful auction house after acquiring the business from the original owner, Edward Darnell, in 1989.
After purchasing the gallery, the present owners moved the business from the Baum Boulevard location to a newly renovated 20,000 square feet gallery on North Lexington Avenue in Point Breeze.
Dargate Auction Galleries is a full-service auction house dedicated to meeting the needs and expectations of both our consignors as well as our buyers. Over the years, Dargate has gained a solid reputation in the fine arts community.
Dargate's services include liquidations of estates, private collections, institutional deaccessions, and appraisals. To realize maximum value for our customers, Dargate conducts their auctions utilizing the latest information systems technology both on line and in house.
