Description: By Tsuji, Osaka, Late 18th century. He stands with his left arm extended and supporting a simulacrum of his spirit which is connected to his mouth by the vapor trail of his breath, a gourd is secured to his sash. Signed inside the himotoshi with the artists one character signature. 2 3/4in (7.1cm). Provenance: Ex Richards collection. Purchased from R. Koscherak, 1958. Exhibited: the Student Center (August 29 - September 25, 1960)

Description: Style of Yoshimura Shuzan, Osaka, Late 18th century. Having a dragon wrapped around him and holding a vase from which sprouts coral. Gesso painted green, turquoise, red, and gold. In the style of Yoshimura Shuzan. 4 1/4in (10.7cm).

Description: Style of Yoshimura Shuzan, Osaka, Mid 18th century. Standing wearing a loose tasseled robe and holding a small leaf spray, the dragon passes up his back, gripping the edges of his robe and forming an elaborate headdress, traces of gesso and colored pigment still remain on the soft kiri-wood. Lot 4: An ivory netsuke of tiger with cub.

Description: By Innan, Osaka, 18th century. Climbing on top of a section of bamboo within which is a tiger cub, the tail curling out from one end, and the head completely contained within the other end. The piece is well-worn and with a series of age cracks that encircle the bamboo section. Signed within a hollow space on the underside, Innan. 1in (2.5cm).

Description: By Hidemasa I, Kyoto/Tokyo, Early 19th century. Standing and carrying two scrolls on his back. The scrolls, and his feet are of ivory and his eyes are ivory with black pupils. The ivory on the scrolls has orange streaks from the rich patina. Signed on his back in an oval inlaid ivory panel, Hidemasa. 2 1/4in (5.6cm).
