The James Mountain Military Historical Collection Important United States WWII military collection including many historically significant items from the James Mountain collection. Highlights include dress uniform of General Dwight D. Eisenhower; presentation humidor to General Beedle Smith; and numerous personal, uniform, and military artifacts from SHAEF (Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force). Swords: Collection of Nathan Starr swords including; 1798 contract saber, 1812/13 contract sabers inspected by Sage and Newbury, 1818 contract NCO swords, and others. Jim Mountain World War II Collection: Historical and important collection of materials related to Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Forces (SHAEF) during World War II. Items include: General Dwight D. Eisenhower's 1945 dated "Ike" jacket with insignia, Presentation sterling silver cigar humidor of General Walter Beedle Smith, important trunk groupings of Richard and Anne Underwood (Richard served as one of General Eisenhower's pilots, with Anne serving as a flight nurse in the 12th Army Air Force during WWII), grouping of General Arthur S. Nevins (Aide to General Eisenhower and manager of his Gettysburg Farm), grouping and Sykes fighting knife of Sgt. Raymond Eyer (General Eisenhower's driver), Flight jacket and navigators case of Kurt Heilbronn (pilot for General Eisenhower), Large grouping of uniforms and materials of Alexander Cherry (one of nine US citizens to become an officer in the Royal Navy during WWII and command a British warship), Grouping of uniforms, ephemera, flags and equipment related to numerous US World War II generals including: Kenner, Twitchell, Allen, Vandenberg, Truscott, Hesketh, Clay, Curtis, McClure, Moses, Stack, and others.
