Viewing NotesONE DAY AUCTION: SATURDAY, September 8, 2012 - 9:00 AM; Pre-view, Friday, September 7th, 10 AM to 4 PM, Saturday 7 to 9 am Our 8th Consignment Auction of Steam Cars, Parts, Literature, & Memorabilia and the Museum's Annual Meeting of Members are being held in collaboration with the Kingfield POPS' and Thomaston Place Auction Galleries', annual Antique Appraisal Day. The Auction benefits the Stanley Museum while the Antique Appraisal Day, scheduled for Friday, September 7, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., benefits the Kingfield POPS' Festival of the Arts' Downtown Committee. We would encourage you to support the POPS event by bringing items to be appraised. The Annual Meeting of the Stanley Museum Membership will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012, at 5:30 pm, in the Herbert Grand Hotel, 246 Main Street, Kingfield, Maine. Prior to the Annual Meeting, the Museum will sponsor a social hour from 4:30 to 5:30 in the Herbert. Music will be provided complements of Kingfield Pops and the Stanley Museum. The public is invited. These events are not to be missed.

Sale NotesFive Steam cars have been consigned, including an early 1900's Locomobile style "project" steam car; a rare 1901 Toledo. This beautiful car was lovingly under restoration by noted steam car restorer Art Hart before his passing. It comes with a complement of related parts to help a new owner finish the job.; a 1909, 10 hp, Stanley E2; a 1919 Stanley 735B, 7 passenger touring in fine running condition. It comes with a rebuilt spare engine and many spare parts and fittings. To top it off, this car comes complete with a fully equipped trailer! The consigner says,"Needs nothing. Ready to tour;" and a rare 1925 SV Stanley/Steam Vehicle Corporation touring car, the second earliest 1925 Stanley documented to have survived. In addition to the steam cars noted, several steam car engines of various hp and make have been consigned, along with over 400 lots of other steam car parts, literature, and memorabilia from manufacturers such as Stanley, Locomobile, and Grout.
