Description: FLASH GORDON Alex Raymond 5-6-1934 With the success of Buck Rogers it was only natural that William Randolph Hearst would want a science-fiction feature but only better. Alex Raymond is without question one of the top two professionals to have every worked in the medium. Combine impeccable anatomical artistic skills, incredible imagination, couple with the ability to plot a compelling story and you define artistic genius. Flash Gordon soon became the benchmark for science fiction adventure and soon after appearing in January of 1934 was appearing in movie serials, books and licensed products. Offered here is one of the earliest examples known to exist the 18th Sunday page (there were no dailies until 1940). The page contains, Flash, Zarkov, Prince Barin and Princess Aura daughter of Ming the Merciless. The art measures 20.25" X 25.5" is hand lettered and in excellent condition.

Description: Carmine Infantino- Detective #333 Arguably, the most important and influential artist of the early silver age, Carmine Infantino was responsible for many of the most memorable books, titles and covers of the fifties and early sixties. Not least of which is Showcase #4 re-introducing The Flash, Mystery In Space with Adam Strange and the new look Batman. We are proud to have represented Carmine for many years. Offered here is Carmine's recreation of Detective #333, originally rendered by Infantino in 1964, Carmine recreated this iconic, new look Batman cover in 200. Mixed media on paper, art measures a large 14" x 21" and is in overall Very Fine condition. * Of note due to persistent physical issues, Carmine has not created any fully rendered art such as this for a number of years. In his post Golden-Age career, he's best known for his ten year stretch as the primary Silver Age Supergirl artist, his work on the Stan Lee penned AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, and his collaborations with Steve Gerber on OMEGA THE UNKNOWN and the MAN-THING. Offered here is page #17 from The Adventures of Superboy #19 featuring Superboy. Pen and ink on paper, art measures a large 15" x 10" and is in overall Very Fine condition.
