Lot 26: PHILATELIC / POSTAL HISTORY - ALL WORLD : Album

Estimated Price: Log in or create account to view price data

Description: PHILATELIC / POSTAL HISTORY - ALL WORLD : Album 1840s/1930s mint and used collection in well-filled 2-volume Ideal album (green, interleaved, 1936 edition, Vols 2 and 3, foreign countries). Est 20-25,000 stamps (spaces for 40,000 stamps, approx 1/2 full, with many positions having 2/3/4 examples), there are good representations from most countries (incl more than useful China section), with stamps from 1st issues through to end of period covered. Whilst many of the obvious key or top values are missing, there are, nonetheless, dozens (maybe 100s) of stamps with individual cat values in £100s and many, many 100s in the middle price bracket (up to £100). Condition is mixed in places and some of early stamps should be considered dubious, but this is a lot with a certain massive catalogue value and offers great potential for breaking into single stamps and/or country collections, or will make excellent basis from which to build. Our estimate is based on a simple average of £7.50 - £10 per page (1200+ pages in total) and with many pages cataloguing in the £100s (a few maybe in the £1000s), we estimate a likely total cat value in the region £100-150,000 (1000s).
