Performed in the Year 1746 and 1747, in the Ship California, Capt. Francis Smith, Commander. By the Clerk of the California, 2 vols., 1748-49, lacks all plts. and maps, library ink stamps to titles and some leaves of text, ink inscription and marks to titles, leaf 2Z3 in vol. 2 with repaired closed tear and some fraying to lower margin, each volume lacks final leaf (vol. 1 final blank? and vol. 2 last leaf of index), some dust and finger soiling, 20th c. endpapers with library labels, 20th. chalf morocco library bindings with classification marks to spines, slight wear to extrems., 8vo. Sabin 82549. 'The clerk of the California' has been variously identified as Charles Swaine and as Theodorus Swaine Drage. (2)
