Description: Allain (Pauline, 19th century). Floral bouquet of laburnum and wisteria, watercolour on vellum, signed 'Pauline Allain' lower right, laid onto linen, 58 x 44.5cm (22.75 x 17.5ins). The French artist Pauline Jamet, née Allain, was a pupil of Lesourd de Beauregard and Rosa Bonheur, and exhibited at the Salon de Paris under her maiden name between 1848 and 1880. (1)
